Judit Hettema is a dutch artist and researcher.
Initially trained as photographic artist (BFA, MFA, post-graduate) at Academie of Fine Art in Utrecht/ Breda and HISK Belgium, her artistic practice now revolves around an ungoing research on lens-based media (photography and video) in the field of fine arts.
She was nominated for Rodenbach Award 2008 (Belgium) and Euregio Art Prize 2005 (Germany/ the Netherlands) and winner of Van Bommel van Dam Public Prize 2007 and Young Talent Award of the Kunstuitleen 2003.
Her work is part of collections of several ministry departments in The Netherlands and private art collectors. She also realized several art works for the art collection of the company Canon-Oce.
She participated as artist in residence at NAC Nida Art Colony (Lithuania) and Sunhoo Industrial Design Residency (Hangzhou China) and exhibited in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Lithuania, India, United Kingdom.
